Regulatory Law

Our regulatory lawyers are experienced in assisting individuals and businesses with all their regulatory, licensing and compliance needs. In relation to matters falling under the Licensing Act 2003, our lawyers can be instructed to review and advise on applications and to represent individuals and businesses at local authority hearings and in appeals to the Magistrates’ Court.

Our non-contentious work involves helping clients to meet their data protection responsibilities under the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and associated legislation; preparing applications for authorisation to practice from statutory regulators and advising on general HR and business law.

Our regulatory team is also experienced in acting for professionals involved in professional disciplinary proceedings and investigations. Our professional disciplinary lawyers have particular expertise in acting for professionals before Healthcare and Legal regulators and we can be instructed in relation to proceedings before:

  • the General Dental Council
  • the General Optical Council,
  • the Health and Care Professions Council
  • the Nursing and Midwifery Council; and
  • the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal
